Hey, I’m SHOKKA! (or Austin)((or A.D.)). I’m a native Texan artist, currently living in the RGV, and I’ve been making art for as long as I can remember. When I was 5 years old I would practice making typefaces while other kids were playing in mud. Since then, I’ve gotten my BFA in Design from UT Austin in 2017 and started a business or two in the arts. I have worked in a ton of jobs, some manual labor, some behind a desk, and some that are a good blend of the two - *cough* screen-printing *cough*cough*. My art career has been incredibly fulfilling thus far; I’ve gotten to work with some really amazing musicians and brands and, most importantly, I’ve gotten to work for myself.

I own and run a small screen printing company out of my home called Sixam Press. I make screen printed merch for small businesses and artists (like myself), and I also love making screen printed posters for events around the RGV. I seriously cannot stop printing posters, it’s a problem. I’m married to an amazing artist, Souther Recio, and they ran an art store / gallery / pottery studio called Cactus Valley Art & Supply Co. Together, we have thrown tons of art shows and events, popped-up all around Texas, and pushed each others’ craft. Some might call us a power couple, and they’re not wrong!
